Hi John,

In 1962, as a small boy I watched the 300 Spartans film, starring Richard Egan. Since that day I have been fascinated by the battle & could not wait for last years 300 to be released.Though it was greatly exaggerated historically, it once again reignited my passion for the famous battle & Spartan history.

By chance, this afternoon I came across your website and have been astounded by the information I have found regarding this period, especially realistic facts & photographs about the battle & what the area looks like today.

Kindest regards,

T. Pavlou - Cyprus

Dear Mr. Trikeriotis

First off let me say that I really enjoyed your website on the Spartans. The 60's movie "The 300 Spartans" is one of my favourite movies and as a child perked my interest in finding out more about the Spartans.

Thank you for your wonderful website,

S. Dummitt - Canada

Hi John,

I read all of your website about the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae, and I just wanted to congratulate you as I have never seen a website so perfect and full of information! I am a student of history at the University of Zurich, Switzerland and have recommended this site to all of my colleagues.

I especially liked that this site also contained information not only for specialists, but also for those who might not know about the battle of Thermopylae. Also the texts and images about the films and reenactors are worth to be read.

I hope more people have the same fun and happiness with this site that I did.

Best wishes,

C. Hirth - Switzerland

John,

Thank you for your website. I saw the movie this weekend at a friend's house with my son in attendance. His eyes had to be covered many times. I will make sure he sees your website so he can see the real (and not Hollywood) version of the events.

Hello Mr. Trikeriotis,

I really enjoy your web site devoted to the 300 Spartans. They have been my heroes since I was 10 years old and the first movie with Richard Egan as Leonidas was released. It is nice to see that the subject is experiencing a new wave of interest, and your site is very informative. A real treat!

Thank you very much.

John,

I have read you webpage with interest, both my son and myself both are keen on the Spartans and the films relating to the famous stand at Thermopylae. Excellent site. My view of the recent film of 300 does not feel or look right, the 1960's film has the correct feel and a more realistic portayal of the event. I myself traveled to Thermopylae in the late Seventies and walked the area with a local guide, an unforgettable experience.

Carry on with a great site,

D. O'Regan - England

Hi John!

Just a Greek Aussie Living abroad. Both of my parents were born in Elos Peloponnesian and migrated here to Australia back in the early 1960's. I have visited Greece several times and heard of the legendary Spartans warrior's way of life. Even my Grandmother boasted its rich history.

It's good to see your website that dedicates its proud history!

Well Done!

Cheers again!

Hello John,

I find your site very interesting. I think that the new image of the Spartan officer is very evocative and seems to somehow capture the spirit of the event.

John,

Wanted to thank you for putting together a nice reference site for the fact (and some of the fiction) that goes along with this battle. I'm doing research on Frank Miller and decided to see "300" this past week, so my intrigue into this event has been piqued. So I'm glad you're not putting together a "fan boy" site, but something with some actual fact to it.

Best of luck to you on this site, I look forward to revisiting and passing it on to other friends to gain a better appreciation for "The 300".

Thanks again, have a great weekend.
