I have read you webpage with interest, both my son and myself both are keen on the Spartans and the films relating to the famous stand at Thermopylae. Excellent site. My view of the recent film of 300 does not feel or look right, the 1960's film has the correct feel and a more realistic portayal of the event. I myself traveled to Thermopylae in the late Seventies and walked the area with a local guide, an unforgettable experience.

Just a Greek Aussie Living abroad. Both of my parents were born in Elos Peloponnesian and migrated here to Australia back in the early 1960's. I have visited Greece several times and heard of the legendary Spartans warrior's way of life. Even my Grandmother boasted its rich history.
