MOLON LABE!!! This laconic phrase which means 'Come and take them' was the reply by King Leonidas of Sparta when asked to surrender to the Persian army. These words are inscribed on the base of the statue of King Leonidas (see the image on the right) and have come to exemplify Spartan resolve at Thermopylae.


   
 
Fallen Spartan warrior plaque - $24.99, plus $10.00 shipping & insurance
This plaque which measures 8 inches horizontally by 10 inches vertically is based on the fallen warrior statue (see image on the right) which is located on the east pediment of the Temple of Aphaia. The inscription on the plaque is the translation of the epitaph written by the poet Simonides and which is narrated at the end of the movie 'The 300 Spartans'.
