A Battle of Thermopylae
crossword puzzle has been created specifically in mind for classroom
use, as it may provide an alternate method in complementing a teacher's
history lesson. Since it is age appropriate for middle school and high
school students, it includes clues and the answers which are integral
to one of ancient history's most celebrated battles.
So
that it can be made accessible to all teachers, it is included in a
Google Docs folder that can be shared and readily available for
printing. If you would like to gain access to this file (it is free), please contact me using your school's e-mail address, since this copyrighted puzzle is intended for classroom purposes only.

'The Hellenic Warriors' aka 'The Warriors of Thermopylae' Living History Group is available for appearances at schools in the Mid-Atlantic area. Fully clad with the arms and armor that were indicative of those used by the 300 Spartans and other Greek defenders of 480 B.C.E., these practitioners will be available to field questions relative to the battle and demonstrate the tactics used.
In addition, several of the inaccuracies which have been perpetuated by Hollywood will be discussed. This demonstration will provide an informative and interactive environment for the students to learn the history of the battle.
