Rare and out-of-print Frank Miller '300'
signed limited edition lithograph

Occasionally, one of the '300' signed limited editions will surface on eBay  under the listing of 'Frank Miller 300 lithograph' or some variation of this heading.  While many have been removed from their original packaging, framed, displayed, etc., it is even rarer to find one in mint sealed condition. If so, they command a very high resale value since they have been out of print for a decade.  This can be evidenced by the price of any current listings or if any can be found via the search engines.

The specifics of the lithograph can be read below:

This lithograph which measures 30 inches horizontally by 22 1/2 inches vertically portrays King Leonidas of the 300 Spartans and is one of a limited edition of 300 copies signed by Frank Miller the author and illustrator of '300' and Lynn Varley who colored the illustrations. Their artwork was nominated and won for several awards in 1999 for best writer/artist, best coloring and best comics-related product/item.

The lithographs, limited to a total of 300 have been out-of-print since they were made available to the public in 1998. Dark Horse and 'ThingsFromAnotherWorld' sold out these items in their limited run due to the rarity of the Miller & Varley autographs, therefore, these lithographs are now only in the hands of private collectors.

This lithograph is numbered 195/300 and has the seal of authenticity by Dark Horse Comics who were the distributors of the '300' artwork. The slight glare that is in the photos is due to the original sealed wrapping which has encased the lithograph since its acquisition. It is brand new and in mint condition and is encased in a corrugated black envelope bearing the '300' logo, therefore, there are absolutely no flaws to this very rare item.

They have now become a prized collectible to the fan of Frank Miller and the collector of items regarding King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans who valiantly died defending the Pass of Thermopylae in 480 B.C.

When it was originally offered for sale, the lithograph retailed for $300, however, because of the low number signed by Miller & Varley, the price has appreciated since their introduction and because of their limited availability.  Occasionally, ones listed on Ebay will sell for over three times their original price.

In addition, the '300' movie which was released in March 2007 starring Gerry Butler as King Leonidas and Lena Headey as Queen Gorgo of Sparta has caused the price of this rarity to increase even more in value. All older items which first sold out when released in 1998 have increased twice and three times their original price as have all the newer items such as the '300' replicas and the limited edition shield.

The price for this rare, signed by Frank Miller and Lynne Varley limited edition '300' lithograph is $999.99 which includes shipping, packaging and insurance worldwide.
